Ahmed Abdulla, CEO of <\/span>DIGIPHARM<\/span>, a blockchain solutions provider that specialise in value-based pricing of healthcare provided a keynote speech to delegates and attendees at the <\/span>UN<\/span> Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business Forum <\/span>hosted by the <\/span>China National Institution of Standardization (CNIS)<\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n

The main topics covered <\/span>in the presentation were relating to the implementation of blockchain in pharmaceutical supply chain and value-based payment mechanisms in healthcare (where treatment costs are linked to how well they work with patients)<\/span> and how to incorporate trade facilitation standards for mainstream adoption of blockchain within the healthcare industry<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ahmed is an expert member for blockchain in healthcare and project chapter coordinator for the blockchain in healthcare working group at the<\/span> United Nations Centre for Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business (UN\/CEFACT)<\/span>, which is a subsidiary and<\/span> intergovernmental body of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) which serves as a focal point within the United Nations Economic and Social Council for trade facilitation recommendations and electronic business standards.
<\/span><\/p>\n

DIGIPHARM is currently the first blockchain-based solution for value-based reimbursements in healthcare with a working product that is currently being deployed for pilots and proof-of-concept studies. The project, partnered with<\/span> telecommunications and developmental powerhouse<\/span> Swisscom Blockchain, will be undertaking a token sale to raise the funds required to finance their great ambitions after receiving approval from the relevant Swiss Financial Market Authorities. <\/span><\/p>\n
