Kids Yoga Stories is an exciting Boston-based company working strongly to encourage kids to explore yoga in a fun and carefree way, through a series of kids yoga books. Most recently, Kids Yoga Stories celebrated the exciting news that one of their yoga books for kids, Mia’s Mountain Hike, won a Family Choice Award. The Family Choice Awards recognizes the best products, services and resources for all members of a family. This awards program, now in its 22nd year, is one of the most coveted, family-friendly consumer awards programs in the nation.<\/p>\n

With yoga having such a powerful effect on so many lives, it’s only natural many parents would want to introduce yoga and yoga’s benefits to their children as early as possible. Kids Yoga Stories, who offer a series of fun books and cards incorporating yoga into their lessons, recently released Mia’s Mountain Hike to help children discover the forest, explore movement, and practice being mindful in nature.<\/p>\n

Mia and her aunt spot several animals while hiking a mountain in Western Canada. Follow along and be a bald eagle, a black bear, and a bridge over a rushing river. This forest yoga book includes a list of kids yoga poses and a parent-teacher guide. Feedback for Mia’s Mountain Hike has been incredibly positive.<\/p>\n

“This is a fantastic and engaging book for early childhood educators to use as a movement-break story. The illustrations are beautiful, and there’s even a small circle with a picture of the yoga pose for children and teachers that are new to yoga. The book connects the natural world to the classroom with familiar yoga poses.
