Los Angeles, CA –<\/strong> Imagine a place where women could come together and have honest conversations about money — a place where they could talk about their struggles and get a better understanding of how to manage their money.<\/p>\n

That place exists through Lola Retreat<\/a>. Founded in 2017 by Emma Pattee and Melanie Lockert, Lola Retreat works to empower women to rock their finances. Lola is inspired by the Damn Yankees lyric “Whatever Lola wants, Lola gets” and the belief that when women get their money situation right, they can get whatever they want out of life.<\/p>\n

Financial and economic empowerment is an important part of the women’s movement. Lola Retreat works to provide women with a foundation of knowledge, so they can budget, invest, pay off debt, and earn more money.<\/p>\n

The first event was held in Portland, Oregon in August 2017. Now Lola Retreat is headed back to the West Coast, February 15-17, 2019, at the Ace Hotel in Downton LA.<\/p>\n

Lola Retreat LA will feature a lineup of guest speakers who are leaders in the women’s empowerment movement and professionals in financial literacy, business, and human behavior. A combination of award-winning authors, international speakers, and financial experts, attendees will leave with expert-level knowledge on all things finance. Guest speakers include:<\/p>\n

• Kristin Wong, a New York Times writer on topics such as personal finance, human behavior, and productivity, and author of Get Money<\/p>\n

• Natalie Torres-Haddad, a TEDx speaker on financial literacy and an international awardwinning author<\/p>\n

• Amanda Clayman, a financial therapist and founder of the Financial Wellness Program for national arts non-profit The Actors Fund<\/p>\n

• Tonya Rapley, founder of the award-winning site, My Fab Finance, author of the Amazon best-seller, The Money Manual: A Practical Guide to Help You Succeed on Your Financial Journey, and the “New Face of Wealth Building” according to Black Enterprise Magazine<\/p>\n

“I’m excited to bring Lola Retreat to my hometown of Los Angeles. We have some amazing speakers lined up that will help break down the taboos around money,” says Melanie Lockert, cofounder of Lola Retreat.<\/p>\n

“We’ll be talking about money mindset, building a business, paying off debt, investing, and even why diet culture is making you broke. Our aim is to create a community of empowered, financially strong women, so we can go after whatever we want.
